BackendX Credit Policy

This Credit Policy ("Policy") sets forth the legal nature, types, issuance, usage, validity, expiration, and refund rules applicable to Credits provided by BackendX Inc. (주식회사 백엔드엑스) ("Company") through the BackendX Service ("Service").
BackendX is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) platform. Credits are limited digital usage entitlements used within the Service to access certain software features and request or run software-processed tasks through the BackendX platform.
This Policy applies equally to all users worldwide.
1. Definition of Credits
- A "Credit" means a limited digital usage entitlement issued by the Company that allows a User to access eligible features within the Service and request or run eligible Tasks through the BackendX platform.
- Credits may be granted free of charge, included as part of a Subscription, or purchased separately as top-up Credits.
- Credits are used only within the Service. Credits are not cash, electronic money, prepaid value, deposits, payment instruments, securities, or investment products, and have no monetary exchange value outside the Service.
- Credits are non-transferable, non-inheritable, non-convertible, and may not be assigned, resold, exchanged, or pledged to any third party, except where required by applicable law.
- Unless otherwise expressly stated, Credits do not represent offline consulting services, manual development services, labor-hour commitments, or any physical goods.
2. Types of Credits
Credits are categorized as follows:
- Subscription Credits — Credits included in a recurring Subscription plan and refreshed on a recurring monthly basis unless otherwise expressly stated.
- Top-Up Credits — Credits purchased separately in addition to a Subscription or other Service access arrangement.
- Promotional or Free Credits — Credits granted free of charge for experimental, testing, customer support, goodwill, or promotional purposes.
3. Subscription Credits
- Subscription Credits are included as part of a Subscription fee and may be used only during the applicable billing period unless otherwise expressly stated in the Service.
- Unless otherwise expressly stated, unused Subscription Credits reset and expire at the end of each monthly billing period and do not roll over into the next billing period.
- Subscription Credits have no separate cash value apart from the Subscription under which they are granted.
- If a Subscription is downgraded, suspended, cancelled, or not renewed, any unused Subscription Credits for the then-current billing period remain available for use until the end of that billing period, after which they expire in the ordinary course. If a Subscription is terminated for cause or for violation of these Terms, unused Subscription Credits may expire immediately. Nothing in this Section limits any mandatory statutory refund or withdrawal right applicable to the User.
4. Top-Up Credits
- Top-Up Credits are paid Credits purchased separately from a Subscription.
- Unless otherwise expressly stated at the time of purchase, Top-Up Credits are valid for twelve (12) months from the date of purchase.
- Unused Top-Up Credits remaining after the applicable validity period expire automatically.
- Top-Up Credits do not roll over after their expiration date.
5. Promotional or Free Credits
- Promotional or Free Credits have no cash value and are not refundable.
- Promotional or Free Credits may be subject to separate validity periods, conditions, usage restrictions, or revocation rules disclosed at the time of grant.
- Any remaining Promotional or Free Credits may expire without compensation upon account deletion, service suspension, service termination, or the end of the applicable promotional period.
- The Company may modify the quantity, conditions, validity period, or eligibility criteria of Promotional or Free Credits without prior notice to the extent permitted by applicable law.
6. Order of Use
Unless otherwise expressly stated in the Service, Credits are used in the following order:
- Subscription Credits that expire first;
- Promotional or Free Credits, if any, in the order determined by the Company; and
- Top-Up Credits that expire first.
The Company may adjust the order of use where necessary for operational, accounting, abuse-prevention, or legal reasons, provided that such adjustment does not unfairly disadvantage Users.
7. Account Deletion and Credit Effects
- If a User voluntarily deletes their Account, the Account may be removed in accordance with the Terms of Use and applicable law.
- Account deletion does not automatically trigger a refund.
- Used Credits are not refundable.
- Upon account deletion:
- unused Subscription Credits may expire at the end of the then-current billing period or earlier if the Subscription ends immediately under the applicable cancellation flow;
- unused Top-Up Credits may be forfeited or remain available only to the extent required by applicable law or expressly stated in the Service; and
- Promotional or Free Credits may expire immediately without compensation.
8. Refunds and Cancellations
- Users may request cancellation or refund of a Subscription or unused Top-Up Credits only to the extent permitted by applicable law, the Terms of Use, and this Policy.
- Unless otherwise required by applicable law, Subscription fees for a billing period are non-refundable after the applicable Subscription period begins, except for any statutory withdrawal, cancellation, or refund rights that cannot be waived.
- Users may request a refund for unused Top-Up Credits within seven (7) days from the date of purchase, provided that none of the applicable purchased Top-Up Credits have been used and no lawfully excluded digital-content refund limitation applies. Where a statutory withdrawal window longer than seven (7) days applies to the User (including, without limitation, the fourteen (14) day right for EU/EEA consumers described in Section 9), that longer window governs and prevails over this seven-day window.
- No refund shall be provided for any Top-Up Credits that have been wholly or partly used, except where required by applicable law.
- Refund requests must be submitted to team@email.backendx.ai or through any in-product support channel designated by the Company.
- Refunds are processed only upon the User's separate refund request and are not issued automatically, unless required by applicable law.
- If a refund is approved, the Company will generally process the refund using the same payment method originally used for the purchase unless otherwise required by applicable law or the payment processor's rules.
9. EU and EEA Consumer Withdrawal Rights
- If you are a consumer residing in the European Union or European Economic Area, you may have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for a Subscription or other paid digital service purchased at a distance, subject to mandatory law.
- If you request that a paid digital service begin during the withdrawal period, you expressly request immediate performance. Where mandatory law requires it, the Company will separately obtain and record the confirmations necessary for immediate performance and for any resulting limitation or loss of the withdrawal right.
- If you validly withdraw after requesting immediate performance of a digital service during the withdrawal period, the Company may charge a proportionate amount for the service supplied up to the time of withdrawal, to the extent permitted by applicable law. For Subscriptions that include a Credit allotment, the proportionate amount may be calculated based on the monetary value of Credits consumed during the withdrawal window together with any fixed-per-period service fees, in accordance with applicable law.
- Nothing in this Policy excludes or limits any mandatory EU or EEA consumer rights relating to lack of conformity, failure to supply, remedies, or termination rights.
10. Refund Exceptions and Company Responsibility
Notwithstanding the above, the Company shall provide refunds or equivalent relief for unused paid Credits, or for the unused portion of a paid Subscription where required by applicable law, in circumstances such as:
- the paid Service becomes unavailable for a material period due to reasons attributable to the Company;
- the Service is permanently discontinued;
- paid features are materially removed or materially restricted in a manner that substantially deprives the User of the purchased benefit; or
- refunds are otherwise required under applicable laws and regulations.
11. International Applicability and Governing Law
- This Policy applies to all Users worldwide, regardless of nationality, residence, or access location.
- The legal nature, expiration, and refundability of Credits shall be interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Korea, subject to any mandatory consumer protection rules that apply in the User's place of residence.
12. Amendments to This Policy
The Company may amend this Policy due to changes in laws, payment operations, Subscription structure, Credit design, or Service operations. Any amendments shall be announced through the Service or by other reasonable means.
